History
Copy Products, Inc. began only as a dream for Vernon S. Starks and his wife Antonette
Starks. While working in the printing industry, they saw the impending
obsolescence of hand-cranked mimeographs and oversized, messy printing presses.
Along with this realization, came an opportunity to enter the then experimental
field of office copier sales and service that resulted in the inception of
Copy Products. At that time, (1968) the copy process was a liquid process
and copiers used treated, rolled paper. Through dedication and hard work, this
risky endeavor proved to be a rewarding process that created a mainstay in the
area of office equipment - Copy Products, Inc.
Copy Products
was to be incorporated in 1971. Beginning as an Authorized Savin copier dealer,
the Royal line was added in 1972 (Royal copiers were to become Konica in 1987).
In the first expansion by CPI, the Pittsburg, KS location began operation
in 1978. In 1982, CPI complimented its product line by becoming an IBM
Business Partner and offering IBM typewriters. Emporia, KS became the site for
the next location in 1984. 1987 marked another expansion milestone with the
addition of the Joplin, MO office. A unique opportunity brought Vernon back to
his printing roots when the Risograph digital duplicator was added to CPI's
showcase of products. The most exciting move came for CPI with the
addition of the Springfield, MO location and the sole Authorized Konica and
Toshiba copier and facsimile dealer in the area. The addition of Mountain Home,
AR in 1998 and then Bentonville, AR in 2000 has added numerous members to the
Copy Products, Inc. family both as employees and as customers. Our latest
expansion occurred in 2006 with the opening of the Wichita, KS office. This
office extends our reach into the heart of the Sunflower state.
With over 70 employees, Copy
Products, Inc. has formed a strong team of account representatives, technical
support, and administration that has enabled us to be voted one of the
Top 50 Office Equipment Dealers in the United States by Office Dealer magazine.
Not bad, considering the field of approximately 100,000 other dealers who
qualified.

typewriters, shredders, folders, and collators. Purchase plans vary based on
customer needs analysis, but can include 90 days Same As Cash, true in-house
leasing options, Third party leasing, and rent-to-own. CPI also offers
short-term rentals, and generous trade-in allowances.
Copy Products, Inc.
has a complete staff of over 35 highly trained, in-house technical
representatives to service equipment on-site as well as trained operators to
answer your questions and troubleshoot over the telephone. Our technicians
carry a generous inventory of commonly used parts to reduce turn around time on
part replacement and repairs. In addition, a Copy Products, Inc.
representative will personally deliver supply items if in the area, or UPS
shipment may be used if needed.
